Tay Valley Wildfowers Association - History

The club was founded in 1949 by local wildfowler's to preserve their Wildfowling
rights on the Tay Estuary. With an original membership on 8 the T.V.W.A. was
the first club in Scotland
and the fifth club in the U.K.
to gain affiliation to WAGBI now known as the British Association for Shooting
and Conservation.

The club still actively supports shooting in and around Fife and Tayside, and as a
member of B.A.S.C. all our members have considerable insurance cover in
addition to backing of professional help in shooting and conservation matters.

Although
still having strong Wildfowling links, the club’s 100 members have a varied
interest in country sports, from fishing and gundog trials to driven game
shooting.

The club has a Conservation Committee which look after the clubs Conservation
Policy and Management Plan for Mugdrum
Island and the Tay
Estuary. All club members are welcome and encouraged to help in all
Conservation Matters.
